What an unexpected treat; good food, fine wine at the Young Chefs Award Luncheon, hosted by La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Gold Coast at the Ramada Couran Cove Island Resort.

Couran Cove Marina
Pre-lunch drinks and canapés were served on the deck of “The Restaurant”, in magical settings overlooking the Marina. A happy meet up and introduction to the members of La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs from the Gold Coast.
How’s that for a Lunch indulgence:
Confit of Chicken with Bug and Fennel Mousse, Saffron Syrup, Olive Oil, roasted Macadamia Nut
Wine to match this exquisite taste; Voyager Sauvignon Semillon, Margaret River
This was followed by
Twice cooked Lamb Loin with Beetroot Polenta, Green Pea Puree, Spiced Jus and Onion Fig Jam
The wine to accompany the lamb was a Pirathon Shiraz 2012 from the Barossa Valley
As a chocoholic, I’m still drooling over the dessert. I was so happy to get my chocolate fix that I forgot to take a picture of – “A Study of Chocolate with a Vanilla Bean and Frangelico Liqueur”
You have to check out the video to see it. La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Gold Coast Young Chefs Award Lunch
When all the guests happily sailed back to the Gold Coast, we sat on the deck till sunset making sure that no wine was wasted.
This very special menu was created by the Executive Chef Chris MacIntyre
Thank you Chris and staff and Thank you to all from La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Gold Coast
Tim, the winner of the Young Chefs Competition for 2014 will compete nationally, representing the Gold Coast in Perth.
