Wine collecting is a great hobby, although it can be a very expensive one. If you are new to collecting wine, the tips below may come in handy and get you started.
The first and very important tip on wine collecting is to decide where you want to store your wine. If you’re looking for a place at home, you’ll need sufficient space with a constant temperature between 12 and 18C
Should the temperature drop below 12°C it will not hurt your wine, it will only slow the aging process.
You’ll also need to determine what wine you are planning to collect. Red, white, sparkling wine, it is worth your while, to do some extensive research (that’s the fun bit)
Travel to wine tastings and trade shows. Here, you can meet other wine enthusiast and collectors and get to know the wine makers and distributors. Learn as much as you can about wine collecting, the wines, wine regions and the grapes. I promise, I am doing some research for you. See: Wine tasting tips
Wine collecting can also be a very lucrative hobby if you are looking to buy rare bottles and thinking of selling them on.
